Aspects of Tibetan Medicine

|
| Tibetan Medical Thangka |
|
The nurturing, protecting, and gathering of medicinal herbs and plants is an essential
aspect of Tibetan Medicine. Sitting at an altitude of 12, 000 feet in the Himalayas in far western Nepal, near Mustang; is
Tashi Ge Gye Thaten Ling monastery. The Abbot of this monastery is Khenpo Tenzin Dargye, who is responsible for the
gathering of over 260 sacred plants for this Asian medicine system. In 1959, Geshe Sangye Tenzin Jongdong, and the esteemed
Bön Teacher and Academic, Lopon Tenzin Namdak; selected the site for this most important monastery, Tashi Ge Gye Thaten Ling.
( And just coincidently, with Geshe Samten Karmay, assisted with the translation of the Nine Ways of Bön). These two high
Lamas built the first monastery by Tibetan refugees after fleeing the Communist Chinese occupation in 1959. Khenpo Dargye
will provide insights for the understanding of Tibetan Medicine.

The Nine Ways of Bon

|
| folio page from the original text |
Also known as the 'Zi-brjid', the Precious Compendium the Blazing Sutra Immaculate and Glorious,
an enormous work of 2,791 folios; the Nine Ways is the complete system and wisdom of this ancient spiritual tradition from
Tazig. These Ways or Vehicles represent the entire major work of the original spiritual tradition of Tibet- Bön. In 1959,
the esteemed British scholar from Oxford, David Snellgrove with three high Lamas from Tibet, translated the first major work
of the Bön Tradition into English. This work is the Nine Ways. It has been decades since the Nine Ways was presented in the
West, and this coming October, Khenpo Tenzin Dargye Rinpoche will present commentary on this most precious spiritual work.
Don't miss this incredible opportunity.

All these events will be presented in front of small audiences, to insure an intimate
learning opportunity. With this said, seating is very limited and pre registration is necessary. Khenpo Dargye is very aware,
that it is best to learn in small groups close to the Teacher.
