A sonic presentation of one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. It was used in ancient cultures as a transformational
instrument for therapy and creating a psycho-acoustical experience. In more modern times, the Gong is used in Yoga, Meditation,
and Sound Therapy. Presented by Mitch Nur, PhD, one of the few teachers of the Gong in the world today and who has one of
the world's largest private collections and has been playing and teaching the Gong for nearly 4 decades. Regarded as a 'Zildjin'
by Turkish academics, and as an 'insider' by Asian scholars. Experience the Gong as a harmonic therapeutic agent, rather than
a novelty act. Mitch will be joined by Susan Raike and her special collection of Gongs which makes up Unit 2 of the Secret
Gong Orchestra.
What to Expect: An atmosphere of harmonic overlays, rich overtones, space, and etherical tones. Meditative stillness unfolding
into pulsating waves that are recognized with both the body and mind. An experience like no other.
The patriarch of Kundalini Yoga in the USA, the late Yogi Bhajan, once said " The sound will carry you beyond your
fears. The vibration of the gong will release the nervous system of many illnesses, to regenerate the parasympathetic nervous
system, nothing is more powerful than the sound of the gong. "
Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to settle in.
