Tsi Dup Yang Bod Year 2
The ancient healing system from ZhangZhung
A Personal Message From Rinpoche
Tashi Delek !
" We had a very special time at the first
Tsi Dup retreat, and I have wonderful thoughts from that event. I very much enjoyed my time with you all, inside and outside
the teaching room ( Gompa ). Even though my instructions may have appeared difficult, I know that many of you have been working
earnestly on the accumulations. Some of you have been challenged by the recent economic turn of events, and this may have
impacted the time necessary to practice. For those of you that are behind, I am hoping that you will continue with the work,
and find time to join us for the second year studies. The economy is another reason why we changed locations for the 2nd Wang.
Many of you wanted an upgrade with private rooms and better food options. Trinity Retreat Center offered this, but when the
economy went into a downturn, we felt that it was necessary to find a retreat center that would be more financially welcome,
without the sacrifice of private rooms and meal options; we found this with the Espousal Center. Now many of you who commuted
to the last retreat, can do so again this year as well."
" Remember that spiritual retreats are enormous learning experiences,
especially long retreats like Tsi Dup. It's impossible to teach everything in a short time, and also be effective as a practitioner.
In year one, many of you may have felt, " where does this all fit together ", year one and year two, are all about putting
all the materials together; and in year three, we will focus on how to implement them. This is how it is done in the Tibetan
tradition, which may seem different to some of you, not used to eastern methods. Tsi Dup Yang Bod is a powerful and effective
practice. You are the first westerners to engage this most ancient of systems. In year one we engaged how to build up energy
from the 5 Directions, and through the use of color. Once this energy is accumulated, how do you feel it, how do you come
to an understanding of it? This is the main focus of this year's program, and in year three, I will show you how to implement
this energy and how to use it to help and heal others."
" This year I am bringing a Cd of last year's chanting, so
students can use this as a reference, and practice tool. This will be given free to all second year students. Also, there
will not be as much chanting this time, compared to last, that's why I'm giving you this Cd."
" I am hoping to see
many of you this coming May, and please travel safely."
Blessings to you all,
Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche

A Message from Bon Shen Ling
We are happy that Circles of Wisdom is acting as our retreat facilitator
again. Cathy and her dedicated staff at Circles can help you with any questions and travel information. Their continued
support and enthusiasm is very much appreciated by Rinpoche and his Board of Directors of Bon Shen Ling.

Its almost hard to believe that nearly one year has passed
since our last retreat together. So many of you have been in contact with Rinpoche and other students from the retreat. Some
of you formed practice groups to continue and enhance your studies. In my conversations with Rinpoche since the retreat, he
has been very touched by the emails and comments from the retreat. He feels that he has created a strong bond with many of
you.
Since my time with you, I have exchanged numerous emails
with Japan, and the students there that continue to engage the practice that Usui was taught. Their comments and insights
have been very enlightening. The practice that they do through their Temples and Teachers is very similiar to what we have
engaged through Rinpoche and Tsi Dup. It is really amazing how this ancient teaching has survived into modern times. Their
interest into what we are doing with the Bonpo instructions has intrigued them. Many symbols found within their tradition
have been traced to the Bon tradition in fact. And their curiosity has led to many facinating emails. What seems to bother
them the most, is the way Reiki is taught in the West. They feel that what is taught, is a very watered down and commercial
enterprise. They don't see any spiritual tradition at work. In fact, they don't recognise the lineage to the West through
Hawaii at all. I will spare everyone the language they have used to describe what they feel the West has done to their system.
They do not recognise Takata in the lineage of the Gakkai, not because she is not Japanese, but because of her teacher who
also is not recognised. All this sounds so political, but the important thing is that the Japanese feel that Reiki is a spiritual
practice, and it should be taught by a spiritual master and not an entrepreneur. That is the main reason that I have remained
in contact with our Japanese counterparts, their interest in the fact that a Tibetan Lama is doing the presentation.
Last Fall I had the chance opportunity of traveling with another Geshe from Menri Monastery,
as he presented programs on the east coast. He performed private healing and therapy sessions around his teachings. I saw
first hand, elements of Tsi Dup in action, with astonishing results at times. As I observed these sessions I could only think
how fortunate we are that these instructions are coming to us. I would be happy to share some of this experience with you,
when I see you in May.
Many of you have emailed me concerning the mantras and memorization. Rinpoche in his talks
with me concerning this matter has expressed both concern and optimism. He wants everyone to just do their best, and that
is the bottom line. He knows many of you have been impacted by the recession, and the thoughts and worries that have come
with it. Year two of this retreat should renew everyone's commitment to the practice, and for those of you that have completed
the work entirely, a step up in your development. Rinpoche wants to train as many as possible through this retreat. This first
group will be the seeds of a new direction in energetic healing in this country, and hopefully impact the years to come through
your efforts.
I have engaged several long retreats in my years as a student with various teachers and Sanghas.
At times students dwell on what they see as the diffucult elements. These elements are nothing more than a welcome opportunity,
a means to put obstacles behind you, with an even greater opportunity to move ahead, if you can see it that way. The students
who complete the teachings are changed forever. And they become the change that is so needed to relieve suffering in this
world.
I truly look forward to seeing everyone again this year.
Many Blessings,
